The Bilal Islamic Institute Former Students’ Association (BIIFSA) was founded with a unifying vision — to bring together the alumni of Bilal Islamic Institute under a common banner of Islamic brotherhood, service, and socio-economic transformation.

Our roots lie deep in the legacy of Bilal Islamic Institute, an institution that not only nurtured our academic and spiritual development but also instilled in us a sense of responsibility towards our communities and the Ummah at large. BIIFSA emerged as a continuation of this noble mission, driven by former students who wished to uphold and extend the values they received during their time at Bilal.

Established as a Company Limited by Guarantee, BIIFSA serves as a platform to reconnect, collaborate, and contribute. Our story is one of shared experiences, revived connections, and a strong commitment to advancing Islam while improving the lives of our members and the wider community.

We recognized a pressing need to support our members beyond graduation — spiritually, socially, and economically. From offering access to sustainable financial services and interest-free loans to empowering vulnerable groups such as orphans, widows, and youth, BIIFSA has taken bold steps to make a real difference.

But our story doesn’t end with our members. We are deeply invested in the wellbeing of the Muslim community in Uganda and beyond. Through Da’awah, education, counseling, advocacy, and strategic partnerships with other religious bodies and government entities, we aim to uplift the most vulnerable and promote Islamic values of compassion, justice, and unity.

As we continue to grow, we invite more former students to join this ever-expanding family. Together, we can build on the legacy of Bilal Islamic Institute — not just by remembering our past, but by shaping a brighter, more inclusive future.
